Dear Central Brooklyn Ascend Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to our new and returning families! We are looking forward to school year 2022-23 and are actively planning to welcome scholars back to school on Monday,  August 22nd (Kindergarten & 1st grade) and Thursday, August 25th (Grades 2, 3, 4).   We are prepared to provide a safe and enriching environment to support your child’s learning. On this page you will find all the "Need to Knows" to prepare your scholar for school year 2022-2023. New school year family orientations will be scheduled for July/August. Dates to be determined. Please plan to attend an in-person orientation session for your child's grade to ensure you are informed for SY22-23.

Summer Homework Packets

July - August

Ascend scholars receive a summer packet and reading book to be completed prior to the first day of school.  Summer packet pick-up for new scholars to CBACS is scheduled for Fri. June 10.   We will backpack home summer packets for returning scholars in grades K - 4.

The League Brand - School Uniforms

May - July

School and movement uniforms are available for purchase from our online vendor, The League Brand.

Note: The 1st TWO weeks of school (August 22 - September 2nd are half days (12:30 pm dismissal).

First full-day/week of school begins on Tuesday, September 6.

*Laptops are LOANED to scholars by CBACS.

Medical Forms

A 504 Form must be completed by your doctor and submitted to the nurse if your scholar needs to be administered general, asthma or allergy medication during the school day.

CBACS offers free breakfast and lunch daily 

Scholars may choose to bring their own breakfast & lunch, meals from home must be healthy, no junk food is allowed in school.

We are a peanut free school

You must fill out an ONLINE free school food application.

The Application will OPEN early July. Deadline to submit is: Friday, July 29th.

Health & Safety

Scholars will complete Daily Covid-19 Screening through the Passport App  Questionnaire & Temperature Screening.

School bus service is provided by the Department of Education - Office of Pupil Transportation.

Eligibility is based on distance to the school and grade.

To request school bus transportation, families NEW to CBACS should request busing on your registration form on SchoolMint and a main office staff will contact you.


Ascend Public Charter Schools curriculum includes math, science, social studies, and English language arts.


In addition, every Ascend scholar participate in 3 - 4 specials classes which may include chess, dance, movement, mindfulnes and science.


Our Student Service Coordinator will plan your scholar's mandated services based on your scholar's Individual Education plan (IEP). 

In addition, we offer ENL services for our English language learners.  Please reach out to our Student Services Coordinator at
