Dear Central Brooklyn Ascend Parents and Guardians,

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we have not had the opportunity to meet our new and returning families.  Please know we are looking forward to seeing you soon and are actively planning to safely welcome scholars back to school the week of August 16.   We are prepared to provide a safe and enriching environment to support your child’s learning. On this page you will find all the "Need to Knows" to prepare your scholar for school year 2021-2022. New school year family orientations are scheduled for Mon. August 2nd for grades kindergarten and 1st grade.  Tues. August 3rd for grades 2, 3, and 4.  

Please plan to attend this virtual orientation session for your child's grade to ensure you are informed for SY21-22.

Summer Homework Packets

July - August

Ascend scholars receive a summer packet and reading book to be completed prior to the first day of school.  Summer packet pick-up is scheduled from Fri. June 11 - Thurs. June 17.

Medical Forms

A 504 Form must be completed by your doctor and submitted to the nurse if your scholar needs to be administered general, asthma or allergy medication during the school day.

CBACS offers free breakfast and lunch daily 

Scholars may choose to bring their own breakfast & lunch, meals from home must be healthy, no junk food is allowed in school.

We are a peanut free school

Health & Safety

Scholars will complete Daily Covid-19 Screening through the Passport App  Questionnaire & Temperature Screening.

School bus service is provided by the Department of Education - Office of Pupil Transportation.

Eligibility is based on distance to the school and grade.

To request school bus transportation, please indicate on your registration form on SchoolMint and a main office staff will contact you.


Ascend Public Charter Schools curriculum includes math, science, social studies, and English language arts.


In addition, every Ascend scholar participate in 3 - 4 specials classes which may include chess, dance, movement, mindfulnes and science.


Our Student Service Coordinator will plan your scholar's mandated services based on your scholar's Individual Education plan (IEP). 

In addition, we offer ENL services for our English language learners.  Please reach out to our Student Services Coordinator at
